Her work has been shown in New York with Gerald Bland, and across DC and Virginia, including exhibitions at the Corcoran Gallery of Art (curated by William Christenberry), in several one-person exhibitions at Les Yeux du Monde Gallery, and along side of Joan Mitchell in “Lady Painters” at Second Street Gallery, Charlottesville. Her paintings are in a number of private and public collections in the US, France, Italy, Switzerland and Spain.

Janet was born in Washington, DC and received a BA with honors in painting from Amherst College, MA where she studied with Grace Hartigan. In 2022, Janet was a fellow at the VCCA Moulin à Nef residency in Auvillar, France. Her next solo exhibition is in February 2023 at Les Yeux du Monde Gallery, Charlottesville.
